- Library tours are full. Contact us if you would like to go on the waiting list. The author breakfasts are also full - you may be able to pick up a ticket at the Information Desk if anyone has cancelled.
- If you have had a Paper or Poster accepted for presentation in a Parallel Session you will receive information about the time you are presenting and reminders of how to prepare and present your paper/poster.
- The Hans Christian Andersen Dinner will be in a venue called Shed 10. Shed 10 is an historic cargo shed on Queens Wharf, downtown, and on the edge of Auckland’s harbour. It’s about 15 minutes walk from the Aotea Centre, where the Congress is being held. Bring a wrap or coat, and don’t wear stiletto heels as they will make for difficult walking, as the historic floor is a little uneven.
- Mid-August can be mild in Auckland, even though it’s the end of our winter. Temperatures average about 14°C, 57°F. We are hoping of course, for fine weather! Inside the Aotea Centre, it will be relatively warm. But bring a coat and/or umbrella for outside in case it’s cold! Places south of Auckland are usually colder.
- If you can attend for only one or two days, don’t despair. You can now register on the website for just one day. Note that Day Registrations do not include the Welcome Reception or the Hans Christian Andersen Gala dinner.

Time in Auckland? - some ideas of what to do:
- The Hop-On, Hop-Off bus is definitely a good way to see the city. It takes two hours and if you stay on the bus you will see much of the city. A commentary gives very good information: http://www.explorerbus.co.nz and of course, you can get on and off at various sites of interest!
- To get a unique view of Auckland, catch a ferry to Rangitoto and climb (or get a ride) to the top. Rangitoto is the youngest volcano in Auckland which emerged about 550 years ago: http://rangitoto.co.nz
- The Whale and Dolphin Safari gets you out onto the harbour and hopefully to see some marine mammals. Even if not, you’ll see our beautiful harbour – hope it’s fine weather! http://www.awads.co.nz
- If you are interested in wildlife, you could visit Tiritiri Island, which is a bird sanctuary, accessible by ferry. Choose a fine day: http://www.tiritirimatangi.org.nz
