Dear Sir/Madam,
Let me first introduce myself. I am Norhayati Razali, the assistant director at the National Book Council of Malaysia. I am the Project Manager for the Malaysian Delegation to Bologna International Children’s Book Fair 2012.
The National Book Council of Malaysia will be launching Best Malaysian Children’s Books at the Malaysian Pavillion; Hall 29 / B 41 on the 19th March (MONDAY) at 2.30 to 3.30 pm.
Amongst our best titles for this year are:
- Puteri Tioman, the Green Turtle - Tells the story of a green turtle born on the sands of the lovely Tioman Island in Malaysia. Part story and part factual, this picture book is beautifully illustrated to tell this important story of conservation.
- Kailash - This picture book is startlingly illustrated by a young and contemporary Malaysian artist. It is a touching tale of survivor of a young zebra who lost both his parents and was forced to run away when war broke out in his homeland.
- Hayley's Vegemania Garden and Hayley's Fruitastic Garden - Following from the success of her two cookbooks, 'Fruitastic' and 'Vegemania', World Gourmand award winner, Mrs Mohana Gill has produced two beautiful books for children. The books aim to introduce children to the joy of healthy eating. 'Start-em-young' is Mrs Gill's motto!
- Books by Yusof Gajah - at last year's Bologna Chidlren's Book Fair, Malaysian artist Yusof Gajah charmed the crowd with his iconic elephant images. Yusof returns this year with new books and new tricks. Come and get your very own elephant if you missed it last year!
